Job Title: Coach (contact and/or flag)
Location: Nairnshire or Moray
Reports to: Head Coach
Hours of work: To be agreed, however expected to attend all practices and games (home and away)
Summary of Position: To teach American football to young people whilst upholding the ethics and values of the club and the sport.
Ensure that the player safety is always top priority.
Recognize injuries and ensure that players get the most appropriate treatment.
To administer the appropriate first aid to players as required whilst following the club’s injury policies.
To ensure that any messages or requested are passed to the appropriate person or noted in the appropriate place.
Uphold the ethics and values of the club and sport of American Football.
Follow the club’s policies and procedures at all time.
Report any child protection concerns to the relevant person.
Prepare for practices and games.
Must have current PVG for children – If you do not have one the Dragons will carry one out for you.
A knowledge of American football is desirable however not essential.
A willingness to undertake BAFCA level one qualification and other relevant training as required.
Child Protection knowledge is desirable.
Must be able to communicate effectively with players, parents, Coaches and other staff members from both in and outside of the organization.
Please note that this is a voluntary role not a paid position however travel expenses may be paid as and when the clubs budgets allow. To coach you must be at least 16 years old however anyone that is younger may join the team but might not be able to coach.
We can support post holders to gain qualifications for example Saltire awards, Duke of Edinburgh award.
